So first bit of business ... last week, we launched Mahalo Answers!
The idea is simple: anyone can ask a question, anyone can give an answer. But there is a twist: people can make money answering questions. The Asker can deposit a 'tip', which is collected when the question is asked. When the Asker feels that a great Answer has been given, award the tip to whoever submitted the best question.
If you haven't checked this out yet, you should: this is probably the most interesting Internet-thing I've ever been involved with. Also, we're working very hard to keep the quality very high (like everything we do at Mahalo), so the 'junk' questions and answers you see on other sites won't appear here. (There are no "How is babby formed?" style questions or smart-ass answers to serious questions). Why? We curate. Just like everything we do at Mahalo!
Next up: Some Max Quick news. I have about 30,000 words done on Max Quick 3: The Bane of the Bondsman. It's slow-going, but I am managing to blast out 1-2K some nights after work, and they're starting to add up. The good news is that the 'rush' of the book has taken hold -- this is the point from which the momentum of writing just starts getting faster and faster -- and the ideas flow like crazy. That's when the book 'happens'. And it is in full swing on Bondsman right now.
Lastly: Got a very nice email from Robert Bailey who writes: "Well I finished listening to max quick book two over the weekend and I am already having withdraw symptoms for not having some more to go on with. I would go as far as to say I have not enjoyed a story this much since the harry potter books. I would even be bold and say I think there just as good as them as well, I can’t wait to hear about a full length feature being made."
And Mike Cane posted this on his blog about Max Quick 2: The Two Travelers on the iPhone.
